My Focus Areas

The cost of living is expensive right now, and my family has personally experienced what it is like to live paycheck to paycheck. I have seen the kindness and generosity from neighbors in our community. If I am elected, I will pursue ideas to improve opportunities for sharing resources with one another. For the past two years, I have been the administrator of our local White Bear Lake and White Bear Township Buy Nothing Group, which has over 2,000 members on Facebook. This community promotes a circular economy where people can help one another by generously giving and receiving with neighbors. As a fire family, I understand the importance of first responders in our community. I value the effort our Fire, Police, and CERT team take to build relationships with our residents. I have attended Fridays with Firefighters, The Bike Rodeo with Police and CERT, and Touch-A-Truck. As a Council member I would continue to support these educational and community-building events. I am committed to ensuring our first responders have what they need to best serve our community, which includes continued access to mental health supports. 

I support sustainability initiatives that are both practical and cost-effective. It is also important to me that future generations have access to clean air and water, so they can also experience the beautiful nature and outdoor opportunities our city provides. This year, I completed a 16-week immersive voluntary cohort with the city of Vadnais Heights through the National Recreation and Park Association. The program focused on ways cities and community members can work together to improve our shared environment, which is a perspective I will bring as your city council representative.
